Senior Software Manager. £60k to £75K+ Bonus.

    An exciting opportunity to join a market leading global supplier of integrated solutions for the manufacture of innovative technical products that are used in industrial, pharmaceutical, chemical, scientific and process industries as well as a wide range of R&D applications.
 This is a senior role, and you will be tasked with developing a forward-looking software technology and process strategy and associated road-map, and executing it. Key areas of focus are: Embedded Software - development for electronic controllers, instrumentation and custom interfaces to meet the functionality, performance, reliability and other requirements of our products and integrated systems. PC Software & Diagnostics - develop device, system and enterprise level solutions for data-intensive monitoring, storing, processing, visualizing and communication of parameters, status and configurations from in-house and third-party products. Develop algorithms and advanced reporting for data-driven preventative and predictive diagnostics and other added-value services. Responsibilities will also include health and safety, quality, budgetary control, team development and recruitment.
Qualifications: A minimum of a BSc or equivalent initial degree in computer science, software engineering or another engineering or technology discipline. 
Experience: Ideally you will have had a hands-on software development role prior to moving into software management.
Skills will hopefully include: knowledge of software development life-cycles, methods and tools in the context of a software quality management system. A working knowledge of object-oriented design and C++, C#, .NET and SQL would be a distinct advantage. A practical knowledge of software development and testing, version control / defect tracking, and software process metrics, techniques and tools is highly desirable: e.g. AGILE, SCRUM, test driven development and others.
A broad knowledge of data communications standards and protocols is also highly desirable: e.g. RSxxx, Modbus, LonWorks, DeviceNet, Profibus, Ethernet, EtherCA.
