C#.net Software Developer – Eastbourne - permanent

There is a need for software engineering resource to assist with the drive to add value to products via innovative electronics and software based control, monitoring and support solutions. The jobs exists to develop touch-screen based control & monitoring solutions for key customers

To work as part of a team creating touch-panel PC software to monitor & control equipment that is primarily used in the semi-conductor manufacturing industry.

Strong Microsoft Visual Studio (VS2010) user (C#.Net, WPF, WCF, MS SQL Server, stored procs) Microsoft WiX InstallerUnderstanding of Ethernet – private networks, switches /routers, TCP/IP, UDP protocolsKnowledge of current and recent MS Windows operating systems including embedded versions Experience in using version control systems, automated build management, test driven development (TDD)Exposure to GUI design and best practice for touch screen user interfacesExperience of working in a technical engineering environment with knowledge of industrial communications protocols (Modbus/Profibus/RS232 & 485 etc) would be an advantageMust be good team player prepared to work as part of team using ‘Agile’ methodologies to develop solutions

Daily duties will include the following:

• Assisting in the requirements gathering process• Attending team meetings• Writing & testing code for new features/ functionality• Working as part of team to deliver on-time & right -first-time solutions• Maintaining and upgrading of departmental test equipment• Software related administration tasks (daily builds, change request management, version control)• EHS (environment, Health & Safety) ensuring that all products developed are safe, comply with relevantindustry, national/regional and international legislation and standards, and that any assigned EHSobligations are met.

Qualified to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline (Software Engineering / Electronics)
